Navigating the Monastery
Terrain and Surfaces
The main courtyard is large but paved with cobblestones, which are uneven and can be challenging for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers. The paths can be steep in places.
Access to Buildings
Most buildings, including the main church, museums, and Hrelyo's Tower, are accessed via stairs. There are no ramps or lifts available. The tower, in particular, has very steep and narrow stone steps. The residential floors of the monastery are not open to the public and are also not accessible.
Restrooms
Accessible restrooms are not available on site. The public facilities are basic and may not be suitable for visitors with mobility needs.
Recommendations
Visitors with severe mobility limitations may find that they are only able to view the monastery courtyard and the exterior of the church. We regret that the historic nature of the site currently prevents full accessibility. Please consider these limitations when deciding whether to visit.
